Murder in the Sentier

By Cara Black

Cara Black does it again with her newest Amy Leduc Investigation, “Murder in the Sentier.” Book Cover

Leduc Detective’s computer security division is going strong. That is, if Amy and her partner Rene’ can mange to collect on some of the overdue accounts in their bulging receivables file so they can pay the office rent and keep the power supply on for their own computers.

When Amy is contacted by someone claiming to have information about her mother—who disappeared when she was eight—her insistence on pursuing the past, at the expense of Leduc Detective’s future, causes tension between her and Rene’, threatening their friendship and that future even more. Especially when the bodies start to pile up, her mother’s connections to the Haader-Rofmein terrorist group come to light and may be directly linked to her father leaving the force and his death. And, when a possible lead in the case leads to another murder investigation and puts Amy on the hit list.

Cara Black delivers all Amy Leduc fans have come to expect and wait anxiously for in Amy’s newest adventure, “Murder in the Sentier.”

Reading this was a sensory trip to the exotic fashion district of Paris. Cara Black’s familiarity with her setting and talent with words transported me, not just into the story but, into Amy’s world. So richly and vividly does Ms. Black create this world, I could see and hear and smell, walk, ride, and run through the cobbled streets with Amy. Captured by the thrills and chills of Amy’s latest adventure, I certainly look forward to participating in more Amy Leduc Investigations.
